Settings

2048 Deluxe offers various settings to tailor the game to your preferences. Access settings by clicking the gear icon in the navigation bar, or open settings now.

Theme

Choose from many color themes to personalize your game. The Settings page offers:

  • Search — Find themes by name
  • Filter — Show only light or dark themes
  • Favorites — Mark themes with a heart for quick access

Favorited themes appear first in the list.

Tip

You can also quickly change themes and fonts from the footer at the bottom of any page!

Font

Choose the font used throughout the game. Different fonts can affect readability and the overall feel of the interface.

Fonts are sorted alphabetically. Click any font to apply it instantly—the preview shows the font name in its own style so you can see how it looks.

Sound

Toggle game sound effects on or off:

  • Off — Silent gameplay
  • On — Audio feedback for tile movements and merges

Reset Settings

Restore all settings to their default values:

  1. Click Reset in the Reset Settings section
  2. Confirm your choice in the dialog

Warning

Resetting settings cannot be undone. Your theme favorites will also be cleared.

Settings Persistence

Your settings are saved automatically and persist across:

  • Browser sessions
  • Page refreshes
  • Device restarts (same browser)

Settings are stored locally, not in the cloud, so they're specific to each browser and device.

Privacy

All settings data is:

  • Stored locally in your browser
  • Never uploaded to any server
  • Not shared with anyone
  • Tied to your specific browser/device

Troubleshooting

Settings Not Saving

If settings reset unexpectedly:

  1. Check if browser is in private/incognito mode
  2. Ensure cookies and local storage are enabled
  3. Try clearing browser cache and re-applying settings
